Catering Manager Position

We are seeking an experienced Catering Manager to lead our culinary team at Laurel Place care home in Bishop Auckland. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety.
Your primary focus will be on developing and implementing menus that cater to the diverse needs of our residents, while maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. You will also be responsible for supervising and training a team of cooks and kitchen assistants, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities- Manage the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, including menu planning, food preparation, and presentation.
- Supervise and train a team of cooks and kitchen assistants to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide exceptional service.
- Develop and implement menus that cater to the diverse needs of our residents, while maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards, and maintain accurate records of kitchen operations.
- Manage kitchen budgets and resources, including inventory control and ordering supplies.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Level 3 Food Hygiene qualification or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a similar role, ideally in a care home or healthcare setting.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
- A passion for delivering high-quality care and services, with a commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction.
