About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a SEMH Teaching Assistant. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality SEMH interventions, empowering students to access and engage with the curriculum fully.

Main Responsibilities
  • Implement work programmes for individuals and groups outside the conventional classroom environment.
  • Provide essential support to students requiring emotional nurture, helping them to develop both academically and personally.
  • Establish positive relationships with students, acting as a role model and setting high expectations.
  • Plan and deliver targeted SEMH interventions and promote self-esteem and personal achievement.
  • Identify and set targets for students with identified SEMH needs, including those receiving external agency support.
  • Participate in meetings to discuss student progress and strategies, ensuring a collaborative approach to student development.
What We're Looking For

We are seeking a candidate with a genuine interest in supporting students with SEMH needs, experience in delivering educational support to young people with additional needs, and excellent interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers. Flexibility and adaptability are essential to meet the evolving needs of students and the department. A commitment to the academy's ethos of inclusion, respect, and high achievement is also essential.
