Role Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Backend Software Engineer to join our team at Client Server. As a key member of our technology team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing the underlying application layer to expose and encapsulate fundamental Generative AI capabilities.
About the Role
This is a hands-on leadership role that requires a strong technical background in Java and SpringBoot. You will work closely with our Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers to introduce cutting-edge AI technology and drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement the underlying application layer to expose and encapsulate fundamental Generative AI capabilities
- Collaborate with Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers to introduce cutting-edge AI technology
- Act as an AI champion within the wider technology team, keeping up with the latest advancements and seeking continual improvement
- Mentor and lead junior engineers to drive technical excellence and innovation
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to drive business growth and deliver high-quality solutions
Requirements
- Commercial experience of working with AI and a demonstrable interest in Generative AI concepts
- Strong backend web development experience with Java and SpringBoot
- Technical project leadership and mentoring experience
- Experience with RESTful APIs, messaging, event sourcing, and Kafka
- Test-driven approach, TDD, Agile methodologies, and processes
- Strong analysis, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
