About the Role

Mencap is seeking dedicated Support Workers to join our team in Bangor, where you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities.

As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in assisting with daily activities, providing emotional support, and promoting independence. Your caring and patient nature, combined with a genuine passion for supporting others, will enable you to build strong relationships with our service users.

We are looking for individuals who are flexible and able to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities is essential, as is the ability to support with personal care, finances, and social activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with daily activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household chores
  • Provide emotional support and promote independence
  • Support with finances, including paying bills and doing shopping
  • Reduce social isolation by supporting individuals to participate in social groups and activities
  • Use Positive Behaviour Support Strategies to improve quality of life
Contract Options

We offer a range of contract options, including Waken Night Contracts. Our services are 24hr care, and we prepare rotas at least 4 weeks in advance to ensure you can plan your personal and social life.

All roles are subject to an enhanced disclosure check and registration with NISCC. You will also receive ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance your skills.
