Position Overview:

This is a full-time, fixed-term position aimed at enhancing community engagement through our wildlife reintroduction initiatives. We seek a skilled community organizer to lead efforts in fostering collaboration between local residents and wildlife conservation projects.

Your role will be pivotal in building connections and empowering community members to coexist harmoniously with nature. You will employ community organizing strategies to unite individuals in support of environmental initiatives.

We are committed to facilitating ecological recovery within the landscapes we serve, recognizing that widespread support for nature is essential for impactful restoration efforts.

You will cultivate relationships, empower community members, and collaborate with our organization to co-create projects focused on landscape restoration and species reintroduction.

Through your efforts, you will inspire individuals to take proactive steps towards environmental stewardship, leading to a broader movement for climate action.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and facilitate engagement within target communities, fostering connections with community leaders and champions.
  • Support the empowerment of marginalized groups, enhancing community cohesion and collaborative efforts.
  • Assist communities in project development, leveraging local and national resources for growth and training.
  • Promote a community organizing approach, sharing knowledge and skills within our organization and the broader conservation movement.
  • Champion principles of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Justice in all initiatives.
  • Collaborate with our Science Unit to evaluate and enhance community engagement efforts, ensuring impactful outcomes.
  • Build and sustain positive relationships with partners and organizations to broaden outreach and effectiveness.
  • Advocate for local and national campaigns through community networks, maximizing visibility and impact.
  • Collaborate with project teams to support funding applications aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Ensure sustainability of community initiatives where applicable.
