About the Tencent Overseas Finance Division
The Tencent Overseas Finance Division is a holistic financial management team that supports Tencent's global expansion strategy. Its mission is to establish a worldwide financial framework that enables businesses to successfully grow internationally while ensuring compliance. The team oversees a broad spectrum of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Management of entity finances;
- Collaboration with international business teams;
- Financial planning and analytical assessments;
- Optimization of financial systems and processes;
- Adherence to overseas policies and compliance regulations.
Role Summary
As a Corporate Controller and a vital member of the Tencent Overseas Finance Division, you will oversee local accounting, taxation, and other finance-related functions. This includes localizing financial policies, conducting financial risk evaluations, and preparing annual budgets and forecasts. The ideal candidate should possess a solid understanding of local compliance and standard practices, and demonstrate the ability to quickly adapt as the business expands into new regions.
- Oversee financial compliance operations for European and Middle Eastern entities, coordinating with business and group finance teams to establish local procurement, payment, fund management, financial compliance, and post-investment financial management processes.
- Manage the annual budgeting process for assigned overseas entities, monitor budget execution and rolling forecasts, and provide timely alerts; analyze and assess specific business operations, key projects, and resources, assisting business teams with local insights.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and lead changes across budget management, financial planning and analysis, entity financial management, and other systems.
- Localize Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) of the Group across the region while ensuring alignment with headquarters.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; Professional Chartered Accountant designation is highly desirable.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in large multinational corporations within the Internet or Technology sector is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of European financial compliance, including interactions with banks and tax authorities.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to collaborate and engage with diverse teams globally. Proficiency in Chinese Mandarin is advantageous but not essential.
- High energy and enthusiasm for driving change in a dynamic environment, with a proactive approach to enhancing financial service quality for local staff.
