About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join MJ Quinn as an Electrical Project Manager, responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of electrical services installation on our Bournemouth Contract.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day project delivery, ensuring delivery to client requirements, safety, quality, supplier performance, and improvement.
  • Develop strong commercial relationships to expand the offer locally.
  • Drive a "Safety First" and "Right First Time" culture across the field operations, backed up through plans and engagement with suppliers.
  • Manage and lead M&E field supervisors responsible for designated project.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, quality failures, and service deterioration trends, and take corrective action where necessary.
  • Identify risks to delivering the budget, supplier, and/or overhead cost impacting upon the project, and work closely with commercial to mitigate these risks.
  • Manage the operational relationship with all suppliers, ensuring that MJ Quinn standards are adhered to and met.
  • Manage staff, oversee work schedules, and assign specific duties accordingly.
  • Deliver quality service to the client, ensuring that performance standards and contractual KPIs and SLAs are met.
  • Carry out regular audits of staff performance and quality of work to ensure the highest standard of service and workmanship is being achieved.
  • Communicate closely and provide timely and accurate periodical reports to Contract Manager, defining project progress, problems, and solutions.
  • Assess designs received from clients, including any walkouts with client supervisors.
  • Overall responsibility for all site works, methodology, and programme.
  • Adhere to safety and performance standards.
  • Work as part of a team to deliver projects on time and to a high standard.
  • Promote a positive and professional image of the department, adhering to company policies, procedures, and standards.

Requirements

  • Previous experience of working on NEC 3-4 contracts.
  • Previous experience of working on healthcare project delivery from an electrical services perspective.
  • Recognised Building Services Qualification – ONC/HNC in Building Services Engineering.
  • Strong experience of programme management.
  • Strong electrical systems background to ensure full understanding of systems for installation on designated project.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels.
  • High standard of numeracy.
  • Education to a G.C.S.E level B+ in Mathematics & English (or equivalent).
  • Computer literate.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong orientation towards quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Prioritise work, work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage business expectations.
  • Adaptable and flexible in your approach to work.
  • Legal right to work in the UK.
  • Enhanced DBS check required due to client buildings being visited.
  • Full UK Driving License with no more than 6 points.
