Job Title: Commissioning Manager - Contract

We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to join our team at NHS Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin Integrated Care Board. As a key member of our Commissioning Team, you will play a crucial role in developing and delivering our commissioning strategy, working closely with our Integrated Commissioning Lead and Local Authority partners.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our organisation at a time of significant change and opportunity. As a Commissioning Manager, you will be responsible for facilitating the development, delivery, and oversight of the totality of the statutory commissioning function in line with our ICB Operating Model. You will also work collaboratively across directorates within the ICB to ensure that the Commissioning Cycle is embedded across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day support to the commissioning team, working with the Integrated Commissioning Lead to develop and embed the Commissioning Cycle and prioritisation process within the ICB and across the wider ICS.
  • Demonstrate commissioning skills with a specific focus on commissioning for person-centred care and use of the PHM approach to develop and embed outcome-based commissioning across all speciality areas.
  • Responsible for writing required reports to the relevant Health and Wellbeing Board, Place Boards, Health Overview and Scrutiny Committees, and ICS Committees, ensuring sign off by responsible officers.
  • Responsible for the collation of papers and items for the BCF Boards and Integrated Commissioning Group.
  • To provide a facilitation and support role to Integrated Commissioning events and sessions, including taking action notes and providing programme support.
Requirements
  • Educated to master's level in a relevant subject or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in a specialist area.
  • Knowledge and expertise of commissioning and the Better Care Fund.
  • Evidence of post-qualifying and continuing professional development.
  • Demonstrated experience of coordinating projects in complex and challenging environments.
  • Experience of managing risks and reporting.
  • Experience of monitoring budgets and business planning processes.
