Job Title: Head of Department for Mathematics

We are seeking an exceptional individual to lead our Mathematics Department at Kings Education - Oxford. As Head of Department, you will be responsible for driving the development of our Mathematics curriculum, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning, and fostering a collaborative and inclusive departmental culture.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Curriculum Development: Design and implement a comprehensive Mathematics curriculum that aligns with the latest pedagogical thinking and best practices.
  • Teaching and Learning: Inspire and motivate students through engaging and effective teaching practices, setting high expectations for academic achievement.
  • Departmental Leadership: Foster a positive and productive departmental culture, promoting collaboration, communication, and a shared sense of purpose.
  • Staff Development: Provide guidance, support, and professional development opportunities for Mathematics teachers, ensuring they are equipped to deliver high-quality instruction.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Develop and implement robust assessment strategies, tracking student progress and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Departmental Administration: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Mathematics Department, ensuring efficient use of resources and effective management of departmental budgets.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: A relevant degree in Mathematics or a related field, with a strong understanding of curriculum design and pedagogy.
  • Experience: Proven experience in teaching and leading Mathematics, with a track record of improving student outcomes and developing effective teaching practices.
  • Leadership Skills: Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff and students alike.
  • Collaboration: A collaborative and inclusive approach, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues across the school.
