About the Role

We are seeking an experienced retail leader to head up our northern sites as our Head of Retail (North). This newly created role will oversee all our retail operations in the North half of the UK, with a southern counterpart covering the South sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive and deliver accountability and ownership for customers across all regions, developing our colleagues to feel responsible for and competent in growing loyalty by creating outstanding experiences.
  • Oversee the execution of new store openings and refits, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards.
  • Deliver a consistent and integrated omnichannel customer experience that is seamless across all channels.
  • Lead the area with robust commercial and operational principles, prioritizing, planning, and directing activities and action plans that deliver a high-performance way of working and meet the agreed financial, people, customer, and operations objectives with diligent cost and resource planning.
  • Ensure that succession, recruitment, training, and ongoing development of colleagues are being delivered, resulting in excellent colleague engagement and excellent customer outcomes.
  • Develops, owns, and communicates the short, medium, and long-term plans to the area to ensure all colleagues have a shared vision and purpose.
  • Implements a consistent approach to performance through effective one-to-ones and insightful reviews.
  • Develop a culture and capability that proactively and systematically identifies opportunities to develop and roll out enhanced operational processes to deliver better service for our customers with a consistent brand experience.
  • Analyzes and interprets information and statistics to identify opportunities to improve productivity and performance.
  • Ensure the stores and regions comply with all company policies and procedures, completing regular site visits and effective communication.
Requirements
  • Expert knowledge of Retail Operations through previous experience of multi-site retail management, building high-performing teams with a strong understanding of a customer service culture.
  • Effective organizational and communication skills, able to communicate messages at all levels.
  • Ability to impact and influence others without direct line authority.
  • Resilient leader who strives for results with highly developed leadership and coaching skills.
  • P&L management with excellent numerical and analytical skills, able to translate data into insights and actions.
  • Engaging presentation skills, able to deliver with confidence and clarity to get key messages across.
  • Experience managing remote teams and maintaining successful and productive working relationships.
  • Confident leadership style, comfortable with challenging the status quo.
  • High degree of problem-solving associated with operational challenges.
  • Full UK driving license to be able to drive between sites to carry out the role.
