Job Title: HGV Technician

Are you a skilled HGV Technician looking for a new challenge? We're working with a leading public transport company to find a motivated and experienced individual to join their team.

Job Summary

We're seeking a highly skilled HGV Technician to carry out routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of PSV vehicles. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in heavy vehicle maintenance, particularly buses and coaches, and be confident in diagnosing and fixing mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on PSV vehicles
  • Diagnose and fix mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults
  • Perform safety checks and prepare vehicles for MOT tests
  • Keep accurate records of work done and parts used
  • Work closely with the team to ensure timely completion of tasks
  • Provide excellent customer service
Requirements
  • Experience as a Bus Mechanic or similar role
  • NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent)
  • Strong understanding of PSV systems and their operation
  • Confident use of diagnostic tools and equipment
  • Great problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Full UK driving licence (PSV licence is a bonus)
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
