Economic Valuation Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated postdoctoral research fellow to join our team at the Cranfield Environment Centre. The successful candidate will work on an exciting NERC project called "Resilient coasts: optimising co-benefit solutions (Co-Opt)". This project aims to develop an integrated and interdisciplinary economic modelling framework to examine the costs and benefits of nature-based coastal defences.
The ideal candidate will have a doctoral degree in a relevant subject, such as environmental economics or land use, and demonstrable experience in applying economic analysis in environmental research. Excellent modelling skills, particularly in Excel, are required. The candidate should also have experience in applying social science methods, such as questionnaires, qualitative interviews, and stakeholder workshops, to investigate social perceptions and concerns related to coastal management options.
The successful candidate will work closely with an interdisciplinary team of scientists and project stakeholders to develop and apply the economic modelling framework. The role will involve examining the costs and benefits of nature-based coastal defences at selected case study sites and identifying how coastal management options under various future scenarios will impose different sets of costs and benefits.
