Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band Health Care Support Worker to join the Rehabilitation Unit. Our mission is to deliver quality, planned care for our patients. The successful candidates will collaborate with a team of nurses to provide, maintain, and coordinate a high standard of holistic care and nursing treatments, under the indirect supervision of the nurse in charge.

This role offers the chance to support patients with Dementia who have complex needs during their hospital stay. Applicants must demonstrate care and compassion in providing support and care for these individuals.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to deliver the highest standards of care in a demanding environment.

Main Duties of the Job

The role involves assisting patients with their personal care needs, recording observations, and completing bedside documentation. Health Care Support Workers are also responsible for maintaining cleanliness in the clinical environment by preparing bed spaces and sanitizing equipment.

During each shift, HCSWs are assigned to provide care for a specific group of patients. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing personal care
  • Assisting with serving meals and beverages throughout the day
  • Recording observations
  • Accompanying patients for investigations

Your development needs will be addressed through personal development reviews.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated and capable of thriving in a fast-paced and challenging environment. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this position; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally encouraged to apply.
