Vehicle Maintenance Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Maintenance Technician to join our team in Basildon. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring our vehicles and trailers are safe, legal, and fit for duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing service and repair of company fleet in line with planned maintenance schedules
  • Completing signed service and inspection records
  • Completing defect reports and associated paperwork to comply with legal requirements
  • Preparing vehicles and trailers for annual MOT testing to ensure first time pass
  • Performing ad-hoc vehicle repairs, investigating and rectifying vehicle defects

Requirements:

  • Applicable licenses, e.g., LGV C&E license (class one)
  • Knowledge of the use and operation of all automotive equipment and testing / troubleshooting equipment
  • Ability to lift and manoeuvre Heavy Vehicle Components
  • Experience with welding and basic D.C. electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Valid driving license
