Role Objective: As the Lead Technical Specialist, your main goal is to oversee and nurture the Technical and Design Team, ensuring top-notch manufacturing and product technical support across the organization for all our offerings. You will support production by providing insights on standards, regulations, and compliance while managing new product development, including testing and performance validation.

Key Duties:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Technical and Design team, managing the product lifecycle from conception to production.
  • Compile data for manufacturing systems and create technical documentation for use across the organization.
  • Lead and develop a team of up to 10 professionals, including Design Engineers, Technicians, and Apprentices.
  • Maintain and update accurate drawing libraries for existing product lines, including revisions and newly developed products.
  • Provide technical information and prepare documentation for Surveyors, Installation, and Service Engineers.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative, regulatory, and quality standards across all products.
  • Offer guidance to relevant internal departments regarding technical specifications for product installation and health and safety compliance.
  • Manage the design and development of new products, including overseeing testing and performance validation at external facilities.

Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Design Engineer in a manufacturing context.
  • A solid background in the windows and doors sector.
  • Familiarity with UPVC/Aluminium systems is advantageous.
  • Experience in new product development, including awareness of current trends, legislation, building regulations, and compliance.
  • Project management expertise.
  • Proficient in IT, including 3D CAD and product configuration software.
  • Understanding of third-party certifications such as BSI, BBA, and BFRC.
