About the Role

Join us as a Commercial Operations Support Specialist at Balfour Beatty, where you will play a vital role within our Power T&D Commercial Team. Prepare to engage in stimulating tasks and contribute to significant infrastructure initiatives in the sector.

Primary Objective:

In the capacity of a Commercial Operations Support Specialist, your primary duty will be to assist Quantity Surveyors with a variety of commercial activities throughout the project timeline. From managing expenses to ensuring compliance with legal and quality benchmarks, you will be instrumental in engaging and overseeing our supply chain. A background in academic qualifications up to HNC/HND level is typically expected, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications such as Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.

While familiarity with Oracle R12 is advantageous, it is not a prerequisite as we offer comprehensive training.

Located in a dynamic environment, you will be part of an enthusiastic team tackling challenging projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in compiling equipment and labor expenses for project leads
  • Gather cost and value data
  • Support Quantity Surveyors in generating cost reconciliation reports
  • Document minutes for cost and performance discussions
  • Collect essential information for defining procurement needs
  • Record and manage procurement-related information
  • Effectively handle cost and value data
  • Utilize the company's Oracle R12 System
  • Input subcontractor application liabilities and generate payment certificates in Oracle R12
  • Update order value requirements and prepare final account summaries
  • Maintain monthly subcontractor application/payment oversight sheets
  • Continuously update and manage Personal Development Plans

Qualifications and Skills:

  • HNC/HND or equivalent certification
  • NVQ qualification
  • Preferred: Relevant industry experience and knowledge
  • Understanding of the role of a Commercial Assistant/Finance Assistant/Quantity Surveyor
  • Strong analytical reasoning skills and familiarity with accounting principles
  • Experience with Oracle R11 or R12
