Position Overview:
This role presents an exciting opportunity for a seasoned quality assurance engineer to enhance the quality framework and standards within AS9100 for a specialized defense manufacturer.
Role Responsibilities:
In a compact, specialized manufacturing setting, the quality engineer must be versatile, capable of engaging at all levels, and facilitating interactions with suppliers and customers as necessary.
As a quality engineer, you will participate in various aspects of the manufacturing and production processes, reporting directly to the Quality Manager and collaborating closely with operations.
Key Duties Include:
Management of supplier, internal, and customer non-conformances to uphold part quality standards and production integrity.
- Overseeing 1st article inspections in accordance with AS9102, coordinating all oversight and validation of issues.
- Reviewing and approving AS9102 First Article Inspection documentation.
- Implementing corrective measures and conducting root cause analyses.
- Leading investigations into quality concerns, either remotely or potentially at supplier locations.
- Assisting in the introduction of new products and quality processes.
- Drafting control plans and work instructions in line with AS9100 and standard ISO9001 methodologies.
- Providing support at all levels, including hands-on quality checks when necessary.
Qualifications:
Qualified lead auditor with credentials in AS(Apply online only) rev D & AS9102.
- Utilizing quality tools such as APQP, DFMEA/PFMEA, 8D, 5Y, and root cause analysis.
Additional Skills:
Experience in supplier quality management and applying 8D problem-solving techniques.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for report generation.
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision and demonstrate initiative.
