Job Title: Cover Supervisor

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cover Supervisor to join our team at a comprehensive Bournemouth secondary school. The successful candidate will provide class cover across various subjects, supporting the school's commitment to outstanding standards.

About the Role:
  • Deliver high-quality cover work across a range of subjects, ensuring minimal disruption to students' learning.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support students with varying needs, promoting their academic and personal growth.
  • Contribute to the school's commitment to safeguarding and child protection, adhering to all relevant policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Experience in an educational setting or equivalent, with a strong understanding of behaviour management and student motivation.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with students, teachers, and other staff members.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • A good level of general education, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.

Please note that experience in an educational setting may not be necessary if the candidate can display desirable skills that are transferrable, such as from a sporting background or other leadership positions. The main prerequisite is that one is confident speaking in front of large groups and carrying out behaviour management policies. Graduates looking to train to teach are particularly desirable.

Although the school are seeking a full-time cover supervisor, part-time applications may also be considered if a job share can be possible.

The school is located in the Weymouth area, making it easily accessible by public transport.
