About the Cyber Security Team

We are the eyes and ears of Tesco Technology, using the latest technologies to increase visibility and protection of our systems, services, and data.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and running security processes day-to-day, working to step change our security capability and enhance the protection and controls we offer to our customers and colleagues.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Collaborate with software and systems engineering teams to support security throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Build proactive monitoring and responses to security events.
  • Engineer systems to address technical security hurdles and protect customer data.
  • Consult on a wide range of security topics and engage with multi-functional teams.
  • Identify gaps in software engineering practices and recommend streamlined security solutions.
  • Work with experienced application security engineers to select appropriate application security tooling.
  • Deliver training on core application security products to security and engineering teams.
  • Write and deliver wiki content on application security products.
  • Promote security best practices across the business.
  • Build automation and monitoring to enforce security policies and detect threats.
  • Develop safe-by-default guardrails for engineers to use.

**Requirements:**

  • Proficient in at least one scripting or programming language (Python, JavaScript, Java).
  • Experience supporting, administering, and building cloud infrastructure (preferably Azure).
  • Familiarity with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps.
  • Proven experience operating and administering Linux distributions (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS).
  • Understanding of common Application Security Tooling (SCA/SAST/DAST/IaC Security).
  • Knowledge of OWASP Top 10, Mitre Top 25, and CVSS frameworks, mapping to business risk.
