Project Overview: Mozambique LNG
The Mozambique LNG project involves the development of a subsea gas field, extending 1,400 meters to shore, situated in the northern region of Mozambique near the border with Tanzania.
This initiative includes a shallow water and dredging component, which encompasses the installation of three trunklines, two MEG lines, and two umbilicals, all entering through a pre-dredged trench approximately 17 kilometers long.
The Landfall Works Representative will report directly to the Afungi Upstream Installation/Construction Manager, overseeing contractor activities associated with the landfall operations. Responsibilities include the setup and operation of the pull-in winch and related tasks. The scope also involves the installation and trenching of a section of pipeline, as well as the establishment of beach valve stations and their concrete foundations, including aspects of the pre-commissioning process.
Project Management Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage activities at the Landfall Works site throughout all project phases.
- Ensure the safe, timely, and budget-compliant execution of all Landfall Works elements, maintaining a high quality aligned with a project lifespan of 30 years.
- Oversee all aspects of the Landfall Works scope to meet or exceed schedule, budget, technical, quality, and HSES standards.
- Implement a readiness process to ensure both contractor and company are adequately prepared for site activities, with proper documentation.
- Promptly inform the Afungi Upstream Installation/Construction Manager of any significant project threats, providing mitigation strategies and work plans.
- Facilitate reporting to all stakeholders regarding Landfall Work activities.
- Ensure readiness reviews and equipment inspections are conducted, with findings addressed and resolved.
- Guarantee compliance of all Landfall Work activities with project technical specifications and suitability.
- Identify and resolve detailed interface issues efficiently and cost-effectively, collaborating with other managers and senior discipline engineers.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in the offshore construction sector, particularly in landfalls and land pipelines.
- Proven experience in managing on-site contractors.
- Ability to foster strong working relationships with contractors and their personnel, promoting collaborative problem-solving.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of representing the project professionally to third parties and stakeholders.
- A bachelor's degree in engineering or an equivalent qualification is required, with a preference for geotechnical, civil, or mechanical engineering.
