Complex Needs Support – Speech and Language Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Speech and Language Specialist to join our team at The Child and Family Connection. As a Speech and Language Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting children with complex needs, particularly those with hearing impairments, speech and language delays, and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

About the Role
  • Provide individualized support to children with complex communication needs, developing strategies to improve their speech and language skills.
  • Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive support for children with complex needs.
  • Design and implement activities to promote speech and language development, including phonics and classroom practice.
  • Work closely with parents and carers to ensure a consistent approach to supporting children's communication needs.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children with complex communication needs, particularly those with hearing impairments, speech and language delays, and ASD.
  • Strong understanding of non-verbal and speech and language difficulties.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Reliable, patient, and adaptable, with a passion for supporting children with complex needs.
