Job Title: Multi-Skilled Engineer

Job Summary:

Ornua Foods is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Multi-Skilled Engineer to join our Operations department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering engineering and maintenance services to support the smooth operation of our production facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance activities on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Report all deficiencies to the Engineering Manager or relevant department Manager for prompt action.
  • Complete all activities in line with the daily work plan, working collaboratively with line supervisors and operatives to minimize production downtime.
  • Support the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with company procedures.
  • Attend breakdowns as necessary and repair in a safe and timely manner, documenting all downtime and breakdowns for accurate record-keeping.
  • Provide support to other Engineers during major breakdowns or where multiple operational engineering priorities exist.
  • Control activities of contractors onsite, ensuring all permits to work and relevant documentation are completed, approved, and executed in a safe manner.
  • Work with the Engineering Manager to ensure accurate records are maintained of spare parts used, striving to reduce contractor costs by completing work internally where possible.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in Engineering and Maintenance within a Food Production environment.
  • Minimum of Level 3 qualification in Engineering/Maintenance (or equivalent).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work within a team environment and use your own initiative.
  • Ability to demonstrate a methodical approach to fault finding.
  • Driven, enjoys a challenge, and strives for continuous improvement and development.
