Job Title: Multi Skilled Engineer

Job Summary:

Ornua Foods is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Multi Skilled Engineer to join our Operations department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering engineering and maintenance services to support the smooth operation of our production facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance activities on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Report all deficiencies to the Engineering Manager or relevant department Manager for prompt action.
  • Collaborate with line supervisors and operatives to minimize production downtime and ensure efficient setup procedures.
  • Support the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with company procedures.
  • Attend breakdowns as necessary and repair equipment in a safe and timely manner.
  • Document and monitor all downtime and breakdowns, providing relevant information at shift handover.
  • Complete risk assessments and method statements as required.
  • Control activities of contractors onsite, ensuring all permits to work and relevant documentation are completed and approved.
  • Work with the Engineering Manager to optimize spare parts usage and reduce contractor costs.

Requirements:

  • Electrical and Mechanical skills and experience.
  • Specific plant knowledge.
  • Electrical control systems knowledge.
  • Previous experience of Engineering and Maintenance within a Food Production environment.
  • Minimum of Level 3 qualification in Engineering/Maintenance (or equivalent).
