About Your New Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to join our Insolvency and Recoveries team in Scotland. As a Principal Associate, you will play a key role in enhancing our recoveries and insolvency offering, working closely with clients to provide expert advice and guidance.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage a diverse range of disputed and undisputed money-only and asset recovery cases, working independently and collaborating with other fee earners on complex cases.
  • Provide supervision and guidance to junior team members, helping to develop their skills and expertise.
  • Undertake creditor-instigated insolvency actions against individuals and businesses, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities to increase revenue and improve service delivery.
  • Assist with the onboarding of new clients, designing processes and procedures to ensure a high-quality service.
  • Create workflows and precedents to increase profitability and automation across the department.
  • Perform asset tracing on target entities and individuals, using your analytical skills to identify and recover assets.
  • Complete MI procedures as required, providing regular updates and insights to stakeholders.
  • Achieve set targets and KPIs, ensuring the team's performance is aligned with business objectives.
  • Ensure relevant deadlines, compliance, and quality measures are adhered to, maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.
  • Comply with relevant Weightmans and client policies and procedures, upholding the firm's values and reputation.

About You

We are looking for a qualified solicitor with 3-8 years of PQE, who has prior experience in debt recovery and insolvency cases. You will have excellent knowledge of the Court of Session and Sheriff Court rules, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

We require you to be motivated and highly driven, with the ability to work to deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively. You will also need to be able to work well as part of a team, providing supervision and guidance to junior members, and have a commercial, solution-driven approach to your work.
