About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our client school in London. This is a fantastic part-time opportunity to work in a forward-thinking special school that caters to over 150 students with a range of learning difficulties and disabilities, including those on the Autism Spectrum (ASD).

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to plan and deliver effective support strategies.
  • Develop positive relationships with students, fostering a supportive and encouraging environment.
  • Adapt learning materials and resources to suit the diverse needs of students.
  • Manage challenging behavior in a calm and professional manner.
  • Assist with personal care and mobility, as required.

Requirements
  • Experience working with children with SEN, particularly those on the Autism Spectrum.
  • A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to working with young children.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A relevant qualification in education or SEN (beneficial but not essential).
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
