An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Town Planner to become a vital member of our property division at EG On The Move.

Reporting directly to the Head of Planning, you will manage a diverse portfolio of sites aimed at securing planning approvals for various developments, including new roadside services and mixed-use projects. Additionally, you will oversee the timely discharge of planning conditions and address any enforcement matters.

Your responsibilities will include instructing and collaborating with consultants across multiple disciplines to facilitate development through the planning process and subsequent requirements. You will also assist with administrative tasks within the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct planning reviews in coordination with the Acquisitions team and Project Managers.
  • Prepare site assessments for new opportunities, including policy analysis and planning history, to evaluate site developability.
  • Provide ad-hoc planning guidance to the business regarding emerging planning policies.
  • Organize kick-off meetings.
  • Advise on the selection of consultant teams and suitable firms.
  • Identify and address specific planning issues with consultants and Project Managers, advising on project implications.
  • Manage in-house planning applications where applicable.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers on planning issues, including strategies for securing approvals.
  • Participate in review meetings with consultants and Project Managers as necessary.
  • Review draft planning conditions and inform Project Managers of technical planning issues.
  • Attend planning meetings, including committee sessions when appropriate.
  • Oversee the submission and management of Condition Discharge in collaboration with the Highway Manager and Project Manager.
  • Handle in-house enforcement management.
  • Mentor and develop the Graduate Planner to enhance their performance.
  • Manage the appeals process.
  • Oversee S.73 applications and in-house management.
  • Conduct reviews of the consultant framework.
