Join Our Team as a UASC Support Specialist

Are you passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children? Connect2Socialwork is actively seeking dedicated professionals to become part of our esteemed Children's Social Work Teams.

Compensation: Up to £39 per hour on a locum basis for an initial 6-month rolling contract.

Work Environment: This position offers hybrid working arrangements, with necessary equipment and training provided.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert leadership and specialized social work practice to make informed decisions in complex situations involving significant risk.
  • Conduct thorough assessments to identify and address the needs of children, ensuring that strengths are recognized and robust analyses lead to actionable outcomes.
  • Utilize strong analytical, interviewing, and observational skills to ensure that the voices of children are integral to all assessments and interventions.
  • Engage effectively with Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children, their carers, and families to foster empowering relationships that facilitate positive change.
  • Act as the lead professional in safeguarding matters, ensuring prompt and effective responses in line with child protection protocols.
  • Produce coherent, analytical, and evidence-based reports and plans for various forums, including court proceedings, that reflect the child's lived experiences.
  • Collaborate with children, young people, and their families to ensure timely and proportionate interventions that protect individuals from harm and uphold their human rights.

Requirements:

  • Degree level or equivalent qualification in Social Work.
  • Access to a vehicle for work-related travel.
