ABOUT THE ROLE
CNC Machining Specialist plays a critical role in our state-of-the-art CAD/CAM manufacturing environment, primarily focusing on operating multi-axis CNC machining centers and lathes for turning processes.
REQUIREMENTS
- HNC / NVQ level 4 in Mechanical Engineering or a completed apprenticeship in a machining field
- At least 5 years of experience in operating CNC machinery, particularly lathes, in a lean manufacturing setting
- Demonstrated ability to maintain precise machining tolerances of less than .0025mm
- Familiarity with machine control systems such as Fanuc, Mazak, Heidenhain, or Haas, with skills in standalone programming and editing
- Experience with precision measurement tools including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and bore gauges
- Preferred background in power, oil & gas, aerospace, or related industries
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including early and late shifts, Monday to Friday
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interpret process sheets, blueprints, and sketches to determine machining requirements and specifications
- Select and install appropriate tooling for various operations
- Calculate feeds and speeds for different materials including steel, copper, brass, aluminum, and bronze
- Read, modify, and create comprehensive programs as needed
- Understand the capabilities of tools and machinery intuitively
- Adhere to quality systems and conduct necessary inspections
- Implement Lean Manufacturing principles to optimize setup times and enhance productivity
- Package finished parts, ensuring cleanliness and protection for shipment
- Perform maintenance tasks such as cleaning, fitting, filing, tapping, reaming, blending, polishing, and aligning
- Utilize precision measuring instruments to conduct various quality inspection procedures

Annual earnings are competitive, based on a standard 37-hour workweek with a structured shift pattern.
