Manufacturing Engineer

About the Role:
The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for planning and executing CNC programs to control contour path machining of metal/composite parts on automatic machine tools. This role requires a strong background in precision engineering and experience with CAD/CAM software within a lean-manufacturing work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse drawings and design data to determine dimension and configuration of cuts, selection of cutting tools, machine speeds and feed rates.
- Compute angular and linear dimensions, radii and curvatures, and outline sequence of operations required to machine parts.
- Create, revise and edit CNC Programs in line with routed operations, create set-up documents to supplement written programs.
- Liaise with shop floor personnel, Shift Managers and suppliers regarding required tooling and fixtures.
- Creation of bills of material for manufactured components.
- Creation of routings for manufactured components including route card improvements.
- Apply principles of Lean Manufacturing to reduce setup times and improve productivity.
