The Role

:

Partnering with the Project Lead to oversee and direct the construction team and subcontractors, ensuring effective and economical operations that align with contractual and quality benchmarks.

In addition to managing daily activities, you will mentor and develop team members while ensuring adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Allocate and manage the necessary workforce and equipment skills on-site Assist in maintaining the appropriate level of budgeted resources, including reporting and forecasting of equipment, materials, labor, and subcontractor expenses. Inspire and guide teams to perform efficiently, effectively, and safely Conduct safety orientations and briefings Ensure the achievement of high standards in health, safety, and environmental performance, striving for zero incidents across all HSE aspects. Adhere to the business management system. Foster strong client relationships and comply with the original tender and project schedule to meet expectations. Ensure the optimal use of trained personnel, equipment, and materials, effectively managing teams and subcontractors. Deliver projects on schedule, within budget, and to the expected quality standards, in accordance with the contractual timeline. Promote high-quality workmanship Organize, communicate, and execute all necessary site inductions.

Ideal Candidate:

You should possess substantial experience in significant civil engineering projects, including roads, utilities, earthworks, drainage, and structures, ideally with several years of experience. You will have excellent HSEQ standards, holding certifications such as SMSTS or SSSTS. Strong interpersonal skills, effective team communication, and the ability to manage changes and supply chain relationships are essential.

If you have well-developed organizational skills to manage equipment and labor efficiently, understand productivity requirements, and deliver projects on schedule while controlling costs. An NVQ or equivalent for CSCS, a CSCS card, Temporary Work Supervisor Training, and Confined Spaces certification are necessary. A full UK driving license is also required.
