Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant Level 2

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team at Hazel Oak School, a special school for children with a range of needs.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse range of learners and contribute to their educational and personal development. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support the delivery of lessons and provide individualized support to pupils.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the class teacher with learning activities and support pupils with their educational and personal needs
  • Undertake activities as planned, within the classroom or with groups of pupils, to support their learning and development
  • Support and supervise pupils beyond the classroom at breaktimes and engage in activities that promote their social development
  • Assist pupils with personal hygiene and healthcare/medical routines and deal with minor accidents and administer first aid
Requirements:
  • NVQ Level 2 qualification in education/childcare/child development/supporting teaching and learning or other relevant qualification
  • GCSE in English and Maths or equivalent
  • Experience of working with children with learning difficulties
  • Skills in positive behaviour management and solution-focused thinking
