Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team at Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs in our outstanding all-age special school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with a range of needs, including Autism, ADHD, Downs Syndrome, social, emotional and behavioural challenges, and personal care and medical needs.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to adapt your approach to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Develop and implement strategies to support students' learning and development, including positive behaviour management and solution-focused thinking.
  • Contribute to the creation of a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student self-regulation, self-esteem, and confidence.

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 qualification in education, childcare, child development, or supporting teaching and learning.
  • GCSE at minimum Grade C/4 in English and Maths, or equivalent.
  • Experience of working with children with learning difficulties.
  • Skills in positive behaviour management and solution-focused thinking.
