Position Overview
We are seeking a committed Field Service Engineer to operate Monday to Friday from our Cardiff service center, covering Cardiff and South Wales, with potential travel to South/West England.

Key Responsibilities
Upon completing your training, as a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective, timely, and efficient delivery of products to customer locations, conducting first-line fault service visits and repairs in accordance with specific service level agreements. You will also perform planned preventative maintenance tasks, field modifications, and provide customer support for the products under contract with Medstrom. All activities will be documented through our job management system.

  • Deliver clean, ready-to-use products to and around customer sites.
  • Collect products after use and return them to the service location for decontamination.
  • Disinfect, function check, repair, and conduct electrical safety tests on products.
  • Maintain records of testing, delivery, and collection.
  • Manage available product stock and spare parts inventory.
  • Execute product modifications as necessary.
  • Provide product demonstrations and basic training to staff.
  • Ensure a clean and organized work environment.

Working Hours
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Participation in an out-of-hours on-call rota (once trained) to support the team and customers, which includes weekends, is required and will be compensated with additional on-call payments.

Candidate Profile
To be considered for the Field Service Engineer position, you should ideally possess or be willing to develop the following:

  • Mechanical or electrical background is desirable, but not essential as comprehensive training will be provided.
  • Experience in delivery driving and route planning is advantageous.
  • A full UK driving license is required (we utilize long wheelbase vans, but training and support will be provided to build confidence in maneuvering these vehicles).

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and follow procedures to meet deadlines.
  • Basic PC skills, including email and MS Office.
  • DBS Checked (or willingness to complete one).
