Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant - Burton-Upon-Trent

Job Type: Temporary, Day-to-Day Support

Location: Primary and SEND Schools in Burton

Rate: £90.00 - £95.00 per hour

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEND teaching assistant to provide temporary, day-to-day support in primary and SEND schools in Burton. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism, ADHD, and communication difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in the classroom to ensure the needs of SEND students are met
  • Work one-to-one with children to provide individualized support and guidance
  • Lead small groups of students to promote social and emotional development
  • Manage classroom resources and materials to create a positive and safe learning environment
  • Manage heightened behaviors and ensure the safety and well-being of all students

Requirements:

  • UK-based experience working with children, ideally in an education setting
  • Experience working with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs (SEMH) and other SEND
  • Flexibility and strong communication skills to work with children with complex and challenging behaviors
  • Attention to detail, patience, and a non-judgmental approach
  • Resilience and passion for supporting each child's needs
