We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Ecologist to join our dynamic team at Ramboll. As a Senior Ecologist, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality ecological services to our clients, working on a range of projects spanning transport, residential and commercial development, and renewable energy.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and undertake ecological surveys, producing high-quality reports, including habitat and species surveys.
  • Design and deliver ecological mitigation measures.
  • Liaise with ecological regulators and planning authorities.
  • Lead small to medium-scale projects, with input on large-scale projects.
  • Be the main point of contact with project managers, clients, partner organizations, and sub-consultants.
  • Deliver technical work on complex projects.
  • Prepare fee proposals and assist with client relationship management.
  • Supervise and manage junior ecologists and sub-consultants, and contribute to resource planning.

About You

  • You will have a good understanding of relevant environmental and ecology legislation.
  • You will be experienced in field work and the application of survey techniques, with the ability to lead on habitat and protected species surveys.
  • You will be able to communicate effectively in written and spoken English to a range of audiences.
  • You will be highly organized and able to work efficiently and effectively to deadlines.
  • You will be proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and ideally ArcGIS or QGIS.
  • You will have a full clean UK driving license and be willing to undertake surveys at unsociable hours.
  • You will hold protected species licenses, particularly experience with European Protected Species Mitigation Licenses.
