Salary: Grade F. SCP 17 £28,770 SCP 22 £31,364 plus pension, ongoing training, tool allowance, and enhanced rates for applicable shift patterns.
This position currently offers a discretionary market supplement of up to £2,594 per annum, in line with the Council's Market Forces Scheme, subject to annual review.
Hours: 36 Hours per Week over 3 days (Wednesday to Friday) with additional contracted hours during peak periods.
Base Location: Tame Street Depot

The Role
As a key member of our team based at Tame Street, you will be a skilled and motivated HGV/light vehicle technician dedicated to maintaining our Transport Fleet.
This role provides an excellent opportunity to apply and enhance your existing expertise by conducting MOTs and compliance tests for taxis. During available periods, you will perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repair work on our extensive fleet of HGVs, light vehicles, plant machinery, and specialized equipment.
About You
The ideal candidate will be organized, possess strong written and verbal communication skills, and have a customer-oriented approach. A valid driving license (LGV Category C preferred) and qualifications such as NVQ Level 3/City & Guilds (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance/Repair are essential. Candidates with backgrounds in light vehicle or agricultural mechanics are encouraged to apply, as training will be provided to the right individual.
