Position Overview:

The PPA Primary Teacher plays a crucial role in providing exceptional educational experiences across various classes, stepping in for class teachers during their Planning, Preparation, and Assessment (PPA) periods. This educator collaborates closely with class teachers to maintain a consistent approach to teaching and learning, ensuring that all students receive engaging and inclusive instruction tailored to their individual needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lesson Delivery:
    • Design, prepare, and implement lessons across a range of subjects in accordance with the National Curriculum, ensuring seamless learning continuity during the absence of the class teacher.
    • Employ diverse teaching methodologies to cater to the varied learning requirements of students, including those with special educational needs (SEN).
    • Encourage active participation from students, fostering a dynamic and positive learning atmosphere.
  • Assessment and Evaluation:
    • Evaluate students' work in line with school policies, offering constructive feedback to facilitate their academic growth.
    • Maintain precise records of student progress and communicate any concerns to the class teacher or senior leadership.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Engage collaboratively with class teachers to ensure lesson plans align with overarching curriculum objectives and the specific needs of the class.
    • Maintain transparent communication with class teachers regarding student progress, behavior, and significant classroom occurrences.
  • Classroom Management:
    • Create and uphold a safe, organized, and supportive classroom environment.
    • Implement the school's behavior management strategies, promoting positive conduct and addressing issues promptly and effectively.
  • Professional Growth:
    • Participate in ongoing professional development initiatives, remaining informed about best practices in teaching and curriculum implementation.
    • Engage in reflective practices, seeking feedback and making necessary adjustments to teaching strategies.
  • Safeguarding Responsibilities:
    • Comply with the school's safeguarding protocols, ensuring the safety and welfare of all students.
    • Report any safeguarding concerns immediately to the designated safeguarding lead.

Qualifications:

  • Essential:
    • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK or an equivalent teaching qualification.
    • Demonstrated experience in primary education.
    • Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and contemporary educational practices.
    • Exceptional classroom management abilities.
  • Desirable:
    • Experience teaching across multiple year groups.
    • Specialized training in SEN or other relevant areas of primary education.

All pay rates quoted will include 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This position is temporary, with the possibility of becoming permanent in the future.
