Job Description

**Job Title:** Qualification Engineer

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Qualification Engineer to join our team at Jefferson Wells. As a Qualification Engineer, you will be responsible for the set-up, execution, and reporting of qualification tests within timeframes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform qualification testing on products to ensure they meet the required standards.
  • Conduct vibration and various mechanical tests to evaluate the product's performance.
  • Carry out temperature, pressure, and various environmental tests to assess the product's durability.
  • Perform electrical power variations tests to ensure the product's electrical systems function correctly.
  • Enable projects to enter qualification on time and meet schedule requirements by coordinating with cross-functional teams.
  • Support shifts work where necessary to ensure continuous testing and quality assurance.
  • Write comprehensive Qualification Test Reports to document test results and findings.
  • Liaise with projects to ensure test requirements are correct and met during initial and de-risk activities to ensure the qualification program runs smoothly.
  • Travel off-site to support testing of EMC and other miscellaneous environmental tests.
  • Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments to stakeholders.
  • Ensure proper documentation of technical data is generated for assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Experience of RTCA DO-160 or MIL-STD-810 or similar standard.
  • Experience with Aircraft-based qualification testing.
  • A positive attitude, initiative, pro-activeness, and enthusiasm for engineering.
  • Demonstrable success in achieving and exceeding internal customer milestones.
  • Good problem-solving and solution-building skills.
  • Good communication skills to team, peers, and management.
  • HNC level or above in an electronic/engineering discipline plus significant experience, or other equivalent knowledge and experience appropriate to Qualification Testing.
  • Experience of technical report writing and Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience of Mechanical and Electrical equipment, especially working with live electrical testing.
