Job Title: Plant PLC Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Plant PLC Engineer to join our team in Peterborough. As a key member of our Plant Operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of control systems within our water-based units and plant-based equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the commissioning or final testing of newly built mobile water assets.
  • Ensure adherence to Quality standards at all times.
  • PLC modifications and fault finding in the regeneration plant, for sites, and on our control systems for mobile water treatment equipment.
  • Fault finding in control systems (PLCs, SCADA, DCS, etc.) through preventative and reactive maintenance.
  • Commissioning new and refurbished equipment.
  • Liaison with Assembly, Engineering, and Plant Manager in the discovery and elimination of unknown issues caused by design.
  • Improvement of electrical consumption and efficiency of the plant to achieve the maximum cost savings.
  • Electrical and PLC support to the Plant and Assembly Team.
  • Maintain electrical control systems in containers, trailers, and skids, including lighting, direct on-line, instrumentation, pumps/motors, etc.
  • Assist in the development of plant modification and improvement work.
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records.
  • Participate in training and team meetings and suggest possible improvements.
  • Supervising and directing on-site contractors when required.
  • Occasionally travel to customer sites.
Requirements:
  • Experience in industrial electrical works.
  • Previously worked in the industrial area, assembly, or other operational roles.
  • Proven record of EHS and Quality awareness.
  • Experience working with Siemens and Allen Bradley PLC software.
  • NVQ3 in electrical based units.
  • City And Guilds Level 3 in electrical installations or equivalent.
  • Drawing software training or experience.
  • Experience of project management.
  • Passport to safety or equivalent.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office packages.
  • Experience in the water treatment industry is an advantage.
