Job Title: Plant PLC Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Plant PLC Engineer to join our team in Peterborough. As a key member of our Plant Operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of control systems within our clients' water-based units and plant-based equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the implementation of control systems modifications and fault finding in the regeneration plant, sites, and mobile water treatment equipment.
  • Conduct fault finding in control systems (PLCs', SCADA, DCS etc) through preventative and reactive maintenance.
  • Commission new and refurbished equipment, ensuring it meets quality and safety standards.
  • Liaise with Assembly, Engineering, and Plant Manager to identify and resolve issues caused by design.
  • Implement changes in MOC and documentation, ensuring strict follow-up and adherence to quality standards.
  • Improve electrical consumption and efficiency of the plant to achieve maximum cost savings.
  • Provide electrical and PLC support to the Plant and Assembly Team.
  • Maintain electrical control systems in containers, trailers, and skids, including lighting, direct on-line, instrumentation, pumps/motors, etc.
  • Perform CE upgrades to existing equipment as per business requirements.
  • Assist in the development of plant modification and improvement work.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure the integrity of work rules and processes.
  • Participate in training and team meetings, suggesting possible improvements.
  • Supervise and direct on-site contractors when required.
  • Occasionally travel to customer sites.

Requirements:

  • Experience in industrial electrical works.
  • Previous experience in industrial areas, assembly, or other operational roles.
  • Proven record of EHS and Quality awareness.
  • Experience working with Siemens and Allen Bradley PLC software.
  • 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • NVQ3 in electrical-based units.
  • City and Guilds Level 3 in electrical installations or equivalent.
  • Drawing software training or experience.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Passport to Safety or equivalent.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office packages.
  • Experience in the Water treatment industry is an advantage.
