Job Title: Head of Clinical Trials

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to lead our Trials Unit's expanding research portfolio of multicentre clinical trials. As the Head of Clinical Trials, you will be responsible for operational planning and oversight, leading the Unit's Operations Group, and reviewing, improving, and introducing trial processes and unit practices to maximise efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate resources and timelines across trial teams
  • Monitor study progress
  • Contribute to the generation of new research grant applications
  • Lead the operational planning and oversight of our Trials Unit's expanding research portfolio

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills and experience motivating teams and individuals
  • Operational and change management, strategic and planning skills
  • Extensive research experience in the design and conduct of clinical trials, with knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements

We are a rapidly growing UK Clinical Research Collaboration registered Clinical Trials Unit based in our School of Medicine. Our mission is to conduct top-quality, high-impact multicentre clinical trials across a range of health areas that will improve health outcomes.

Working Arrangements:

The post is offered on a fixed-term contract for three years. Hours of work are full-time hours per week; however, applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 29 hours per week). Please specify in your application if you wish to work part-time and the number of preferred hours. Job share arrangements may be considered.

This post can either be fully office-based or open to a hybrid working model with a blended approach of home and office working in line with the University's agile working framework and our operational requirements.
