Job SummaryThe University of Sussex is seeking an experienced fire safety professional to support the university in ensuring compliance in relation to fire safety management. The successful candidate will provide fire compliance advice and guidance, conduct investigations, undertake and review fire risk assessments, undertake audits/inspections, deliver training, and produce reports, policies, and guidance following statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Provide fire compliance advice and guidance to the university community
- Conduct investigations into fire incidents and near misses
- Undertake and review fire risk assessments to ensure compliance with statutory requirements
- Undertake audits/inspections to ensure fire safety standards are met
- Deliver training to the university community on fire safety procedures and protocols
- Produce reports, policies, and guidance on fire safety management
The ideal candidate will have significant qualifications in UK fire safety requirements and experience of undertaking/reviewing fire risk assessments and advising on fire safety management and compliance in a large complex organisation. You will have a measured and 'coaching' style with stakeholders and excellent communication skills.
