Role Responsibilities:

As a key member of the management team, you will report directly to the Clerk of Course and collaborate closely with our grounds and greens teams across multiple locations, sharing best practices and strategies.

  • Implement a comprehensive maintenance program for the racing course, including fertilization, spraying, and irrigation, while maintaining accurate records and conducting regular inspections.
  • Prepare the course for racing events, which includes mowing, aeration, rolling, and seeding as necessary.
  • Work with the Clerk of Course to manage material purchases while adhering to budgetary constraints.
  • Oversee the setup and repair of all chase and hurdle equipment during the racing season.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations while rebuilding chase fences during the off-season.
  • Maintain and realign the running rail as directed by the Clerk of Course.
  • Manage external fencing, railings, and signage maintenance.
  • Supervise ground staff and temporary workers on race days.
  • Monitor weather conditions and prepare pre-racing reports in collaboration with the Clerk of Course.
  • Oversee projects or events that may affect the racing surface.
  • Ensure the presentation of areas adjacent to the racing surface is maintained.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Level 3 GMA qualification.
