Position Overview

Concept Resources is seeking a dedicated Seasonal Operative to join our Clean and Green North - Ground Maintenance team. This role is a full-time temporary position offering competitive pay.

Key Responsibilities
As a Seasonal Operative, you will be responsible for executing horticultural and street cleansing tasks under the supervision of experienced team members. Your duties will include:

  • Operating grounds maintenance equipment, including ride-on mowers, hand grass cutters, strimmers, and blowers.
  • Assisting with planting and maintaining various garden features, such as shrub, rose, and flower beds, which involves weeding, edging, and general upkeep.
  • Supporting arboricultural activities, including loading vehicles with timber, transporting branches to chippers, and maintaining a tidy work area.
  • Engaging in hard landscaping tasks, which may involve lifting and carrying materials, hand digging, and general site maintenance.
  • Conducting litter collection and managing fly-tipping incidents.
  • Performing edging off footpath duties and ensuring the site is clean upon completion of tasks.

It is essential to adhere to all risk assessments related to your work, ensuring your safety and that of your colleagues. You will also be responsible for addressing basic inquiries from the public while on site, directing more complex questions to the Team Leader.

Equipment Maintenance
Maintaining tools and equipment in a safe condition is crucial. You will be expected to report any defects to the appropriate maintenance teams.

Compliance and Safety
All work must be conducted in accordance with the Council's policies and procedures, particularly regarding Health & Safety regulations. You will operate a variety of equipment safely, perform daily maintenance checks, and ensure the security of all machinery.

The role requires working outdoors in various weather conditions, so adaptability is key.

Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must provide:
- Right to work documentation
- Two years of written references
- A clean driving license suitable for operating vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes.
