Job Title: Chartered and Residential Surveyor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chartered and Residential Surveyor to join our team at Innovus. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering market-leading solutions and professional services to our clients in the property sector.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage programmes and projects related to building and fire safety in residential properties, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and guidance.
  • Provide timely and detailed professional advice to our Asset Management Team and clients on fire safety, building regulations, and resident impacts.
  • Review proposals for remediation, advising on health and safety, fire safety, building regulations, and resident impacts.
  • Liaise with internal and external legal teams to discuss options for remediation, including building guarantees and collateral warranties.
  • Collaborate with managing agents to commission external cladding surveys and complete EWS1 forms, monitoring third-party works and mitigation measures.
  • Implement mitigation measures based on report results, including waking watches and sounder alarms.
  • Interpret fire survey reports and make recommendations for next-stage works.
  • Monitor and report on mitigation measures, ensuring compliance with legislation and health and safety obligations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal departments, clients, and partners.
  • Provide regular updates to clients, including formal fortnightly programme reporting.
  • Monitor communications with stakeholders, including residents, leaseholders, insurers, managing agents, and relevant authorities.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in surveying or a similar discipline in the built environment, with at least 5 years' experience in managing programmes and projects in a high-profile client environment.
  • In-depth understanding of health and safety regulations applicable to surveying and project delivery.
  • Working knowledge of fire regulations in the residential built environment, including external cladding.
  • Knowledge of building regulations, planning applications, and other property legislation.
  • Review and interpretation of building specifications and defects.
  • Experience with works tendering, including JCT contracts.
  • Desirable: experience working with legal teams and developers.

Qualifications:

  • Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS).
  • Qualification in fire safety and risk management, such as NEBOSH or Fire Protection Association (desired).
