Teaching Assistant Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team at Robert Fitzroy Academy, an Ofsted-rated 'Good School' with a strong commitment to providing exceptional learning opportunities for children. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the class teacher and providing excellent learning experiences for all students. You will be responsible for adapting and extending learning within a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment. We are looking for someone who is committed to teamwork, has a can-do attitude, and is prepared to go the extra mile to ensure the best possible outcomes for our students.
We are looking for someone who is experienced in working with children, has a good understanding of the curriculum, and can deliver whole-class learning and small-group activities. You will be responsible for providing structured support to students, including 1:1 activities, to ensure that the curriculum is accessed by all. We are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive environment, and we are looking for someone who shares this commitment.
We offer a range of benefits, including collaboration with other schools within the Trust, specialist curriculum support and training, and a support package for staff wellbeing. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all members of staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An Enhanced DBS disclosure check is required for this post. Applicants who have lived or worked overseas for more than six months in the last 10 years will be required to obtain a Certificate of Good Conduct.
Why Work with Us
We are a Trust with big ambitions for all our schools to be 'great'. We want to be national leaders in sustainability, transform our teaching and learning through digital transformation, and ensure social justice is at the heart of what we do. We are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive environment, and we are looking for someone who shares this commitment.
Safeguarding, Safer Recruitment, and Data Protection
We recognize that those who work in an academy are in a unique position in their care of children. The responsibility for all staff to safeguard pupils and promote their welfare, as stated in Section 175 of the Education Act, is one that is central to our ethos, our policies, and our actions. We are committed to applying our policies to ensure effective levels of safeguarding and care are afforded to all our pupils. We will seek to recruit the best applicant for the job based on the abilities, qualifications, experience as measured against the job description and person specification. The recruitment and selection of staff will be conducted in a professional, timely, and responsive manner and in compliance with current employment legislation, and relevant safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance. An enhanced DBS disclosure will be requested for all successful candidates, including a Children's Barred List check if the role meets the criteria for regulated activity.
