The Opportunity

You will have the chance to work on diverse and challenging flood, coastal, and maritime projects for our clients, including Local Authorities, Water Companies, the Environment Agency, and Natural Resources Wales.

About the Role

As a key member of our team, you will support our clients in managing their water and coastal environment sustainably and innovatively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and quality assure the delivery of Flood Risk Assessments, Surface Water Management Plans, Local Flood Risk Management Strategies, and Strategic and Outline Business Cases.
  • Lead the development and implementation of business plans to drive the growth of our Flood, Coastal, and Maritime (FCM) business.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff, managing small teams on a project and supervisory basis.

Requirements

  • A degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Geography, Water & Environmental Management, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrable experience in coordinating, quality assuring, and undertaking analysis and interpretation of flood and coastal datasets, including identifying key issues and challenges.
  • Experience working within or for Lead Local Flood Authorities, managing projects, and delivering work to agreed budgets, programs, and scopes.

Desirable Requirements

  • Commercial awareness, including tendering for flood and coastal work and contract management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including explaining technical information to clients.
  • Experience managing/supervising junior staff and working with flood and coastal risk management stakeholders.
