Land Director

We are seeking a highly skilled Land Director to join our team at SSE, a leading energy company powering communities to thrive today and create a net-zero tomorrow.
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for securing, maintaining, and managing strategic land and property rights for our underground cables, overhead lines, and ground-mounted plant on both public and privately-owned land.
You will devise land consents strategies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and sustainably, while managing risk to future network security.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assessing, negotiating, and successfully settling compensation claims
- Working with and assisting wider Capital, Maintenance, and Inspection teams
- Experience securing both voluntary and statutory consents for capital projects
- Experience of working with key stakeholders, such as landowners, tenants, and their agents, local authorities, and national agencies
