Job Title: Environmental Health Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health Specialist to join our Regulatory Services Department. As an Environmental Health Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring the health and safety of our residents and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver a high-quality service to the public, incorporating an educative approach to guide businesses to compliance with current legislation and codes of practice.
  • Instigate enforcement action, when necessary, according to Codes of Practice and Enforcement Policies.
  • Liaise closely with the public, external partner agencies, and internal departments to increase the effectiveness of enforcement work.
  • Acquire and maintain specialist expertise in the fields of public protection and environmental protection.
  • Manage a caseload of allocated work to specific timescales and performance targets.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure that legislative requirements are complied with.
Requirements:
  • Full clean UK driving licence and own transport.
  • Education to degree level in environmental health or equivalent qualification.
