Job Title: Specialist Dental Nurse - Special Care Dentistry

Join the Transformation Unit as a Specialist Dental Nurse - Special Care Dentistry and play a pivotal role in providing exceptional care to patients with complex needs.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dental Nurse to join our Special Care Department. As a Specialist Dental Nurse, you will work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to provide tailored and compassionate care to patients with physical, mental, or medical challenges.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Support the management of clinical sessions within the Special Care Dentistry Department, including the delivery of dental sedation.
  • Provide high-level dental nursing care, focusing on patients who require additional support and have complex social and medical histories.
  • Act as the second trained person to monitor the clinical condition of patients during and after conscious sedation.
Key Requirements:
  • Dental Nurse qualification enabling registration with the GDC (e.g., Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing, NEBDN National Certificate, or equivalent).
  • Registered as a Dental Nurse with the GDC.
  • Post-qualification in Dental Sedation.
  • Experience working in GDP, Dental Hospital, CDS, or Armed Forces.
  • Significant experience in a wide range of dentistry and working within a Special Care Dentistry Department.
